Obituary of Manley Forbes
Peacefully with family by his side, very much aware of the love and respect of his family, at the Wiarton Hospital Friday morning July 16, 2010. Manley Forbes of R.R.#1, Hepworth in his 89th year. Survived by his very devoted and caring wife of 63 years, the former Madeline Rouse. Loved father of Gale Moase of Guelph, his only son Ron Forbes of R.R.#1, Hepworth and his partner Thao (Minnie) Tran, Carol and her husband John Reid of Owen Sound and Phyllis von Dungern and her partner Steve Mole of Wiarton. Lovingly remembered by his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Vi Chambers of Wiarton, Gladys Kirkland of Owen Sound and Elda Spencer and her husband Fred of Sauble Beach. Predeceased by one grandchild Darcey Weir and one great grandchild Lane Krueger. Manley was a well known businessman, owning a food market in Hepworth, a land developer, developing sub-divisions in Sauble Beach, Pike Bay and Pleasant Harbour. He was also involved in local politics including Reeve of Amabel Township. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted from Zion Amabel United Church Sauble Beach Tuesday morning at 11:00 am with Rev. Gerry Hofstetter officiating. Interment Zion Cemetery.
