Obituary of Alfred Emmerson
At the Grey Bruce Health Services in Wiarton Sunday morning January 8, 2006. Alfred Emmerson of Wiarton in his 84th year. Dearly beloved husband of the former Constance Myers. Dear father of Gary and his wife Isobel of Wroxeter and Jimmy of B.C. Dear step-father of Cherie Bates of Oshawa, Conchita and her husband Bill Easton of R.R.#1, Allenford, Wayne Myers and his wife Lorryn of Port Elgin and Darnell Myers and his wife Rosemarie of R.R.#3, Tiverton. Lovingly remembered by his two grandsons; Rodney and Christopher; one step-granddaughter Brandy Bates and one great-grandson Zachery. Dear brother of Margie Lane of Don Mills and Joyce Lavelle and her husband Bud of Peterborough. Predeceased by a son Dennis. Alfred will be missed by many friends and sailing buddies of numerous Ontario Marinas and his much loved and final port of call Wiarton Marina. Alf was a veteran of WWII in the R.C.N.V.R. and R.C.N. as leading seaman gunner with defensively equipped Merchant Ships. He was a loyal and dedicated member of D.E.M.S. Branch of the Royal Canadian Navy Association and also a survivor of the sinking of the S.S. Rosecastle. Funeral Service will be conducted from the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jack Tweddle officiating. Visiting one hour prior to service. Interment Colpoys Bay Cemetery following cremation. Memorial contributions to Vision 2002 (Sauble Area Medical Clinic) would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy.
