WARMINGTON, Floyd Leslie peacefully at Gateway Haven Nursing Home Wiarton Wednesday afternoon August 13, 2014. Floyd Warmington of Wiarton in his 90th year. Cherished husband of Phyllis (nee Haase). Dear father of Wayne and his partner Kathryn McCulloch of Ingersoll and Paul and his wife Pat of Wiarton. Loved grandfather of Nicole (Josh), Mellissa (Charles), Christopher, Abigaille, Natasha and Tanya and great grandfather of Chantel, Travis, Shailah, Raelee, River, Hunter and Kaesyn. Dear brother of Josephine Campbell of Owen Sound and brother-in-law of Nadeene 'Deanie' Warmington of Allenford and Michael Semenciw and his wife Marian of Owen Sound. Predeceased by his brother Vernon, sister Marie 'Dot' Semenciw and brother-in-law Lorne Campbell. Floyd moved to Toronto in 1942 and joined the Toronto Police Force. In 1943 he joined the Air Force and obtained the rank of Sergeant acting as a Bombardier. Following his discharge in 1944 Floyd returned to the Toronto Police Force. At the time of his retirement in 1974, he was the youngest Inspector on the force. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The funeral service to honour Floyd's life will be conducted from the funeral home Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Micol Cottrell officiating. Interment Zion Cemetery. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 586 will conduct a service Sunday at 1:45 p.m.. Burns Masonic Lodge 436 AF & AM will conduct a service Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Expressions of remembrance to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Save the Children would be appreciated.
