Obituary of Marjorie Lipka

At the Grey Bruce Health Services in Wiarton Tuesday evening May 14, 2013. Marjorie Lipka (nee Bean) of Sauble Beach in her 88th year. Beloved wife of John Lipka for 62 years. Loving mother of Carol Ann McMillan and husband Doug, Robert and wife Linda, Benjamin and wife Gayle, Sharon Armstrong all of Owen Sound and Raymond and wife Corrina of Regina. Lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Marj Lipka, better known as Sauble's "Mrs. Fundraiser" and the "Energizer Bunny" was the recipient of the prestigious "Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal". Marj was instrumental in fundraising for Zion Amabel United Church's new building and the Sauble Area Medical Clinic. She was the key fundraiser with the Sauble Community Centre and Sauble Community School. Marj was active in local senior's groups and was an honorary lifetime Director of the Sauble Area Medical Clinic. Marj has truly been a driving force for many of the community buildings in Sauble Beach and will be greatly missed. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Monday May 20th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted from the Zion Amabel United Church, Sauble Beach, Tuesday morning at 11:00 am with Rev. Gerry Hofstetter officiating. Interment Zion Cemetery.
