My thoughts and love go out to Kathy, Randy, Mike and Jennifer and his extended family. I'm so very sorry for your loss, for it will definitely be a big loss. He was a grand man - bigger than life. I have been very lucky to have known his love, humor, strength and tenderness my entire life. He treated me as a daughter, which I will treasure always. Oh, the memories --- together working in the fields, at cattle auctions, feeding the cattle, feeding the barn kitties (never throw away food - it can always go to the barn cats :)), long walks and talks. And, the warm bear hugs! I am so very grateful for our visit in early October - we spent good quality time. I love you so much "Uncle" Mick, and I will miss you greatly. I am sending hugs up to you.

I had planned to be there with you today for the Service for Ivan.
However back problems have kept me at home.
My association with Ivan goes back to the to the early 1950's and the old D. H. O.
construction days, thus I have known Ivan for many years. I knew "Barb" as well, and the Froats family, Hillis and his wife, and we as a family were guests at the Froats' homes in both the "Tub" and Oliphant.
On recall, I have many good memories of times spent in Ivan's company, at many D. H. O. Events, and the Highway Christmas Parties, to name a few.
Please let the Family know that others are sharing their loss at this time, and we will remember Ivan for many years to come.
May these thoughts bring you some comfort - Dan & Joan Webb.

To Randy, Mike & family, I had the pleasure of working with Ivan the summer of 1993 while w/ Ross Trask & Ivan's dry sense of humour was great.
I found out later on that Ivan attended boot camp for the Korean War with my uncle, Bev Porter, who was from Oxenden at the time.
He was very knowledgeable & a very good man to work with & for.My condolences & prayers are with you all at this time.

I am so sorry to hear about Mick.
When I first started with the Highways in 1967, Mick was my supervisor. I learned a great deal from him and over the years worked with him several more times. He was a great guy and I enjoyed my time working for him.
I apologize that I will be unable to attend the service due to a previous medical appointment.
Once again my condolences.

When I started with the Highway Dept. in OwenSound in 1958 Mick was my Boss. I remember well the day he said to me: I guess this is the day to see who is in charge of this contract ,me or the Contractor. Mick.was in charge and I learned a good lesson which I used many times during my 35 years with he Department . I saw Mick many times at the OwenSound Christmas Lunch .He was not at the last one that I attended because of his health.
My sincere condolences to All his Family at this time of their loss.
In my opinion Mick was one of the GOOD people that I had the honour of knowing.
