Remembering Janet on this sad day:
To the Smith family.
We will always cherish the good times we had together with Janet, Bob and the family
over the last 50 years or more.
We have too many good memories to recount.
May you all find comfort in knowing that Janet is finally at peace.

Bob and Family, we are so sorry to hear about the passing of Janet. I first started house cleaning for Janet in November 2008 until I retired in April 2017. She was always so good to me and worried I was working too hard. She loved her family dearly. Janet always had a big smile for me. Janet was definitely a fighter. Rest In Peace Janet.

To Bob and the family:
We are deeply saddened by Janet`s passing. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
You were the first couple we met when we moved to Montreal in 1968. We went on to become lifelong friends; watched each other’s children grow up, played together, vacationed together, and visited back and forth for over fifty years.
Perhaps our two most memorable moments were unplanned.
In October of 1970, despite the brewing FLQ crises, you and Janet came down to spend the thanksgiving weekend with our family in Montreal. Your first night in town, things started to go sideways when we learned of the death of the kidnapped Quebec Deputy Premier. While we were transfixed by the momentous events playing out on that 24-inch black and white screen, our children played in the room next door. In retrospect, our attempt to entice you to stay an extra day by kidding Janet about the possibility of being stopped or even detained at the Quebec/Ontario border now seems a bit ill conceived. God knows, with three (Are we there yet?) preschoolers in the back seat the poor woman had enough to cope with on the ten hour drive back to Leamington.
Thirty years later on September 11, 2001, three couples, Alice and I, the Ashtons and Rogers, all friends from the Montreal era, drove up to see Janet before the winter set in. We walked into your home at Chesley Lake to learn of the 9/11 crises, which had been playing out as we enjoyed our picturesque drive through the countryside. Again, a much more momentous occasion than we had originally planned.
Janet was an exceptional person, totally committed to family, who will have a special place in our hearts forever.
Love: The Rideout family

Bob & Family
All of you have done an excellent job, over an extended period of time, in supporting Janet and enabling her to get some enjoyment out of life despite her illness. You can all be proud of your joint efforts.
Janet was a true friend and even with distance and time the friendship was maintained. I recall the Roast Beef Sandwich she made me many years ago and it must have contained half a pound of beef. She knew how to pile it on.
All of you have our sincere sympathy and love during this difficult time.

Extending my deepest sympathy to Janet’s family.
My fondest memories of Janet are from our several ‘Smell the Roses’ road trips to Nashville in the family RV.
Lots of laughs, good food, and many fun memories!
I’ll never forget how thrilled Janet was when we just happened to arrive in Nashville on the same day as her favorite country artists, Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, were performing that night and we were able to get tickets.
Janet was a very warm, generous, loving person, she will be missed.
RIP dear friend,
Sharman xo
