Bonnie and Dave Rands Dave and I send our deepest sympathy to Ron’s family. How fortunate I was to enjoy long walks with Ron in the summers while at our Oliphant cottage. Ron was a gentle, kind, friendly soul. His knowledge of the Oliphant area was outstanding. Being well read, he offered much to our conversations . We shared many laughs with Doug Fenwick who usually accompanied us on our morning walks. I will always treasure the happy memories I have of Ron. Bonnie Rands

Remember Ron very fondly from his many years on Amabel Council. As Treasurer of Amabel and Ron generally Finance Committee Chairman we worked quite close over his 12 years on Council. His wisdom and knowledge was invaluable to the ratepayers of Amabel. Ron was not your usual politician, he was not afraid to buck the system if he thought he had a good or better idea to carry out any project, but he always accepted diverse opinions and always said “ sometimes we agree to disagree and move on”. His honesty was very much appreciated by all of staff. His friendly and outgoing manner in the municipal office and at home in Oliphant was always welcome. Ron having retired from CNCP so early in life meant he was always able to devote what ever time was required to any task undertaken. Thank you for being a friend Patrick J. Stock

Our Deapest Condolences to the Family, Ron was a very nice Man and Neighbour for many years in Oliphant, we would always see Ron and his friend and Neighbour Doug walking every day along Bay St with their thumping sticks as we all used to call them, Ron will be sadly missed, but not forgotten, Ann and Ron House
