To Dan, Jim and the Millman Family
We share in your sadness at hearing of Ruth's passing.
It makes me smile to think of the visits with her over my life. She and your father were such great friends with my Dad and Mom and I was blessed to keep that connection with her and your family after they passed
When the golden hour comes over the beach we will think fondly of her and raise a glass to celebrate a life well lived.
Thinking of you all at this difficult time

To Ruth’s Family,
Ruth was a customer - turned friend, for many many years. Ruth was always so genuinely kind and encouraging. I could always count on a good laugh and a hand squeeze from her. I think that I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of Ruth’s family through studio visits at my parents (Don & Marsha Dubois) and my own studio. It was easy to see that you all were her greatest joy. I will miss her.

When we would walk the dogs together after school, I would talk to Ruth about everything. She was a wonderfully supportive listener that would also hold me accountable. I respected Ruth so much and always wanted to maintain her respect. The time Ruth spent walking the dogs with me was invaluable. My condolences your family and to everyone that was lucky enough to have you call them friend <3

To Ruth’s family. You do not know me ,but Al and Alma were great friends with my mum and dad,, Mervyn and Millie Deakins. I remember they came often to our farm house to visit many years ago. My brother Doug Deakins had visits with Ruth , as he lived at sauble beach also. He passed away in 2010. I seemed to be always working and am sorry I didn’t get to do that. So many things in life we regret when too late. We are cousins ,some how. I’m not good at the family history ,but have daughters who are. Bless you all.. I have such fond memories of the times spent at Sauble and in London with Ruth, her family and her parents, Al and Alma. We were aways welcome and knew there would be lots of laughs. Our dog running through the woods from our cottage to yours to see his ‘parents’. Evening barbecues after a day on the beach. My mother, Flora and Ruth were friends from a long way back. We enjoyed our times around the dinner table with Ruth on our visits to Canada. Thinking of you all – Bob, John, Jim and Dan.

The news of Ruth's passing was hard to hear, especially when she left a mark with so many she knew and loved.
My sincere condolences to her family - I often think of the good times at Sauble as a teenager with her family years ago - friendships made with her sons, memories of her parents Al and Alma.
Ruth was a gentle soul and her legacy of caring for others, of friendship with my mother Ethel and sister Mary Lou, and her love for her family and friends will continue on in them.
