Obituary of Phyllis Stevens

STEVENS, Phyllis Ruth, peacefully with family by her side at Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound, on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Phyllis Stevens (nee Gowanlock) of Red Bay, in her 76th year. Beloved wife of the late Wayne Stevens (1998). Cherished mother of Mark of Toronto, Jonathan of Red Bay and Diana Van Ryswyk and her husband John of Cayman Islands. Much loved grandmother of Cohen and Eliza. Dear sister of Frank (Marion) of Lower Sackville, N.S. and Annice Blake (John) of Penetanguishene. Predeceased by her parents Helen (nee Smith) and Maurice Gowanlock, sister Maureen Craig Davidson (Dunc), foster sister Fran Calhoun (Ron) and brother LeRoy (Nina). Phyllis will also be missed dearly by all her nieces, nephews and cousins, whose lives she touched in so many ways.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sandhu, Dr. Fenn, Dr. Barfoot, Nurse Glenna and all the members of Phyllis's care team, and the staff of Chapman House for their expertise and unflagging support during her courageous journey this past year.

The funeral service will be conducted at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth on Saturday June 22nd at 1:00 p.m. with a time of fellowship to follow at the Wiarton Legion.  Expressions of remembrance to Chapman House Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce and or the Wiarton Royal Canadian Legion Branch 208 would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.downsandsonfuneralhome.com
