So, to Susan in particular,
I returned to this part of the world some 32 years ago to find many and most of my contemporaries departed.
While Fred had some advantage of age, I welcomed his welcoming and subsequently celebrated his abide.
Our shared history was a touchstone.
I do honour that Fred prevailed against his challenges.
I do hope to be remembered as one of the ‘locals’ always on ‘his side’
And
I do hope to be invited to his memorial.
Best

Our sympathy to Fred’s family. To us, Fred was a member of our extended family. We all have fond memories of chats with him at gatherings at Joanne & Brian’s house and the cottage. We will always remember Fred’s signature way of checking in one-on-one with each of us at those events to inquire how we were doing and what we had been up to since last we spoke. Conversations with Fred were always meaningful and enjoyable. We will miss him.
