I worked with Reg at Shaw & Begg Group which became Fireman's Fund Insce. Co. We passed each other on the highway as I went to Kitchener to take his spot and he went to Hamilton to run the local office. We both ended up at L.S. Croth & Co which evolved to Adjusters Canada Inc. Reg was always a guy with a smile on his face who made time to chat. I lost track of Reg over time but I fondly remember his influence on all us "young guys".... Ellen and family - we were so very sad to learn of Reg’s passing last Thursday. Such a gentleman when we remember hiis time at Zion Church (Sauble Beach United). Lloyd remembers how much he liked going with the “guys” to the hockey games in Owen Sound, long before Covid. Dear Ellen, David, Nancy and families,
I am so sad to hear about Reg's passing. May you know peace and comfort in this time of grieving.
I have so many fond memories of "Mr. Dirstein". The smoke from his cigar wafting from cottage to cottage. His warm welcome and deep laugh. How he joined "Mr. Mitchell" as The Dune Men. The many corn roasts where he would put on his apron and tend to the corn over the fire. And the years that I was able to attend the Barbershop Conferences that I loved so much. I knew him to be a kind, welcoming and encouraging man.
He will be missed.
